ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis CITY SC midfielder Célio Pompeu is now recovering from a successful operation to repair an ankle dislocation and fibula fracture, the club announced.

CITY SC says the Brazilian midfielder underwent the surgery on Sunday. He will miss the remainder of the 2024 season and faces at least a nine-month rehabilitation before returning to competition.

The 24-year-old was having a break-out year through the first 17 matches of the season, with three goals, three assists, 15 games started and 1,246 minutes played.
