ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) -- The St. Louis Battlehawks have parted ways with quarterback A.J. McCarron, head coach Anthony Becht announced Friday.

McCarron led the Battlehawks to seven wins and a conference championship in the 2024 UFL season. The Battlehawks lost to the San Antonio Brahmas in the postseason, McCarron’s last game with the team.

McCarron played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, and Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. He later ed the Battlehawks to play in the XFL. He resigned with the Bengals in 2023, but requested release the following February and reed the Battlehawks under the newly branded United Football League.

The Battlehawks are expected to send a release on the news by the end of day Friday.
