‘She took my dog away from me’: Woman says her dog was shot, killed while on a walk
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) - An Ohio woman is going through heartbreak after losing her best friend, Buddy.
Tammy Hall said last Saturday she took her 4-year-old American bulldog named Buddy for a walk when he was shot and killed.
“I really want my Buddy back, this is my baby, my baby, and I want him back,” she said.
According to Hall, not only did her dog die, but she was also hit by the gunfire.
Now, she wants the person responsible to be held able.
“She took my dog away from me, my life,” Hall said.

Hall has a shoe from that day that she was wearing when she got shot in the foot. The bullet hole serves as a reminder of something she survived, but her precious Buddy did not.
She said they encountered some trouble that day when Buddy and another, smaller dog, started fighting. Hall said she and two other people tried to break up the dogs, then a woman, appearing to be the other dog’s owner, confronted her.
“She said, ‘I’m going to get a gun and I’m going to shoot your dog,’” Hall said. “I told her to please not shoot my dog, you might as well shoot me.”
Hall said the other woman ended up shooting.
“Bang, bang, bang. That’s all I can ,” she said.
Hall said a bullet went into her foot, and one hit Buddy in the head.
“The last shot was him,” she said.
According to Hall, she ed out after the shooting.
Toledo police said they found Hall in the intersection with a gunshot wound to her foot. She is now using a knee scooter to get around, keeping her injured and bandaged foot elevated.
The wound will heal, but her pup cannot be replaced.
“I’ve been offered three puppies, but I don’t want them right now,” Hall said. “Nothing’s going to take the place of my Buddy.”
Court records show the woman who allegedly shot Buddy is currently charged with having weapons under disability. Hall said that is not enough.
“I think she should be charged for shooting me and killing my dog,” Hall said. “And for my pain and suffering.”
She’s calling for more penalties and charges.
Police said they checked on the other dog at the scene and it appeared to be in good condition other than what looked like a dog bite to its ear.
Hall said she is prepared to go to court and is bringing her shoe with her as a reminder of what happened that day.
