1 dead, 2 injured in North City shooting
8-year-old suffering graze wound among injured
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A man is dead and two more are injured Sunday in a shooting in the city’s Baden neighborhood. One of the injured victims was an 8-year-old girl.
The shooting happened after 5 p.m. Sunday in the 8300 block of North Broadway.
Police say they found a 22-year-old man and an 8-year-old girl on the Elite Supermarket parking lot.
The 22-year-old man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and the 8-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to her arm.
Shortly after, a 25-year-old man was found a block away in the 8200 block of N. Broadway. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police say the three victims were sitting inside a vehicle when an unknown man opened fire on them. At this time, it is believed that ‘a disturbance’ occurred prior to the shooting.
EMS responded and pronounced the 22-year-old man dead at the scene. He has been identified as Michael Maxon of Castle Point, MO.
The 8-year-old girl and 25-year-old man were transported to the hospital for treatment and listed in stable condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
