Person fatally struck, juvenile injured in Jennings Friday
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A person was killed after they were struck on Highway 367 in Jennings Friday afternoon.
According to St. Louis County Police, the incident happened just before 4 p.m. on Highway 367 near Jennings Station Road.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was traveling southbound in a wheelchair on the shoulder when they were struck by a swerving vehicle.
The vehicle then struck a van with one adult and six children in the northbound lanes of Highway 367. Everyone inside the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot.
The wheelchair-bound victim was pronounced dead, and the driver of the van and one juvenile were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is active.
